Retrospective 2023

Consolidating in a turbulent world. In 2023, De Vlijt celebrated its 5th anniversary. With 1.1 million hours processed, we wrote a new record. Our company stands like a house!

A board member of Royal De Vries Shipbuilding aptly described: The first and second year everyone likes the new initiative 'De Vlijt'. The third and fourth year you are questioned. The fifth year it has to stand. 2023 was the fifth year.

And that while the world - near and far - is full of conflict and turmoil. For example, the election results undoubtedly have implications for the Netherlands and the economy, changed and tightened laws and regulations demand attention, and housing is one of the major issues in the use of flex workers.

These factors influence our mission in 1001 ways: to ensure that within our companies the right people get to the right place, at the right rate. Our guiding motto is: people, passion, perfection.

International labor market

In 2023 we saw a further, global internationalization of the labor market. De Vlijt moves with this development. Partly due to the tight labor market in the Netherlands, we necessarily look for skilled workers abroad. De Vlijt works with reliable partners, they explicitly provide housing for our flexible shell.

Development of ZZP Policy

The Netherlands has about 1.2 million registered self-employed persons without personnel (ZZP'ers). De Vlijt enjoys working with them. We can make good use of their expertise, and the person behind the expertise is more than welcome. In 2023, we developed new policies aimed at the proper use of ZZP'ers. In doing so, we are in line with government policy.

We take a positively critical look at the use of ZZP'ers within our companies. We are discussing the form in which we work together. Is it sustainable for the future? With the new framework agreement, our agreement is sustainable and secured in terms of legal conditions.

Our results

From January through December, the number of hiring hours processed continued to grow. The scope of De Vlijt was also further expanded within all ten Feadship locations. This allows us to do even more for the locations. We are proud of our 1.1 million hours processed in 2023; a new record.

Passion

De Vlijt is working hard on its proposition, both inside and outside Feadship. We do this by having a firm grip on compliance and costs. And optimally unburdening the locations.

Perfection

Here we look ahead to 2024. We are experiencing: 'alone you go faster, together you go further'. De Vlijt strengthens cooperation with procurement and HR. Together we put people first: this applies not only to permanent staff but to everyone working at Feadship. With all their knowledge and experience they form the 'human capital' of our yards and offices. We grant everyone a nice workplace, both our permanent employees and our highly valued temporary skilled workers.
