Construction

Turning your nose up at innovation

Pipefitter, plumber and fitter/construction worker: side by side you will build all the mechanical installations in a yacht. In fact, you're right on top of all the innovation that goes into a Feadship. Will the yacht have an Imax cinema? Your work is part of it.

Perfect piping

The work of the pipefitter and plumber is invisible, but super important. As a pipe fitter, you will provide the perfect piping for fuel and oil supply and the cooling and exhaust system, among other things. As a plumber, you work on the water supply and plumbing.

"We work with all imaginable techniques and create a unique product." - Kees Leeuw, project manager STI Engineering

Construction

'Construction' covers many different activities. At Akerboom Yacht Equipment in Leiden, for example, hatches, doors, stairs and cranes are constructed in the workshops. Very interesting work, because Feadship equipment is advanced and cleverly made.

The follow-up takes place at the hull yard or finishing yard. As a construction worker, you place pump foundations, drip trays, frames for switchboards and landings, for example. You also assemble pumps, switch boxes and hydro units on board the yacht. And you lay ship floors in the technical areas. When installing and aligning engines and shafts, your assistance is welcome. While you're at work, you'll see how the construction of the yacht keeps progressing, until delivery.
