De Vlijt 5 years!
De Vlijt, the hiring company of Feadship, celebrated its 5th anniversary on June 19. That was celebrated. "We have moved mountains and achieved a lot," said De Vlijt director Esther Meulendijk. About sixty guests came to the shipyard in Aalsmeer to raise their glasses together. Here's to the next five years!
In 2018, the employment agencies were "officially" updated on De Vlijt in the Hali, the historic little building on the shipyard grounds. And again, this is where the guests were received. That is, outside, because of the beautiful summer weather. Every invitee had or has a special connection with De Vlijt. Such as former yard director Aalsmeer Dennis van Haasteren, Madelein van Acker, until 2021 director P&O of the De Vries Group, yard director Makkum Sijbrand de Vries and quartermaster / ad interim director De Vlijt Erik Overdick. All four people who stood at the cradle of the hiring company with their clear vision.
De Vlijt director Esther Meulendijk mentioned them and many others in her speech. "Thank you," she said, "for all your work to establish De Vlijt and grow it into what it is today." Later, CEO De Vries Group Henk de Vries, "sponsor" of De Vlijt from the very beginning, followed up. "The concept of De Vlijt," he said, "had no precedent. Together we find out what works best; for our whole company, Feadship and our partners."
At the end of her speech, Esther handed Henk de Vries the book '5 years De Vlijt, from dream to Feadship hiring company'. The book tells of steps taken, setbacks, successes and choices. "What always stayed the same was our mission," said the De Vlijt director. "The right people, at the right time, for the right rate."
Explicit thanks went to Esther's team of hiring coordinators and skilled workers. Together they are the face of De Vlijt in 2023. Nice feat: "In 2022 we delivered over 900,000 hiring hours, in 2023 we will reach the million." The De Vlijt-director concluded, "We have moved mountains and achieved a lot." Cheers!
